Re: America, Not Keith Ellison, decides what book a congressman takes his oath on

This blog is in response of Mr. Dennis Prager's essay: America, Not Keith Ellison, decides what book a congressman takes his oath on.

Dear Mr. Prager,

If you really believe in America and its democratic values, then you must be knowing that Mr. Ellison is AN ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITIZENS OF AMERICA.

A country does NOT exist by virtue of its boundaries, but by ITS CITIZENS. The verdict and mandate of citizens is the verdict of a country. So, Mr. Ellison's decision to take oath on the book of his choice IS THE VERDICT OF AMERICA!! If you do not believe this, then YOU and NOT Mr. Ellison is going against America!!

Point number 2: An oath of office is administered so that Congressmen discharge their duties with committment. If anyone takes an oath on the book which is MORE dear to him, THAT CLEARLY MEANS HE IS MORE COMMITTED TO HIS DUTIES AND ONCE HE TAKES AN OATH ON THAT, HE IS MORE LIKELY TO BE BOUND WITH THAT.

I am extremly sorry to notice that people like you can go to such an extent of blocking your free thought process, just to gain CHEAP PUBLICITY!! Definitely, AMERICA DON'T NEED GUIDANCE FROM YOU!!
